Develop an accessibility policy
Accessible design is a process that needs to be introduced throughout your entire web development team. It's not a matter of simply recoding a few pages of your website. We will help you develop an organisation-wide accessibility policy that states:
- what your current levels of accessibility are
- what targets you have set yourselves
- what your short, medium and long-term plans are to improve your website's accessibility.
Develop a detailed accessibility action plan
Out of your accessibility policy comes the detailed action plan that gives you a set of objectives and targets to address over a defined period of time. You can't expect to become 100% web accessible overnight, but having a detailed action plan will provide evidence that you are actively addressing the issues in a coherent manner.
The plan will outline:
- the objectives and targets you have set
- how to secure resources (time, money, people)
- staff training
- how you propose to involve disabled users as testers
- how to raise awareness of accessibility throughout the organisation
- how to put new processes in place
- how to monitor ongoing progress.
